K-Love the Poet Bio: K-love the POET In 2003, this present Actress, Writer, Youth Motivational Speaker and National Spoken-Word Artist, hit the Chicago Poetry Scene running. Since her 03 debut, she’s been highlighted in a host of Magazines such as Ebony- Jet Websites and well as the Chicago Suntimes and Post Tribune. In 2009 she was featured on an album produced by Kanye West’s’ recording label Good Music, (Malik Yusef). In 2015 she release her latest DVD entitled " Broken Cycles 33:1.K-love has shared the stage with the likes of National artistic legends such as Angela Davis, Common, Ava Muhammad, Aamina Mathews, Chaka Khan, Talib Kweli, Mc Lyte, Slick Rick, KRS1, Comedian Sommore (Queens of Comedy) and Michael Colyar (Original Host of BET Def Comedy Jam), just to name a few. Although, she is regularly featured artist in more than 15 cities, her love for performing and Spoken-word poetry comes 2nd to her first passion, mentoring at risk youth. In September of 2009 K-love founded her very own mentoring Organization entitled, L.Y.R.I.C. MENTORING, let your rhymes inspire creativity. This out of pocket ran organization is now one of most impactful youth movements on the south side of Chicago. Through LYRIC,K love offers a wide range of social emotional learning workshops for women and girls.. Treat Me Like a Queen and PRINCESS both use affirmative chants, spoken word poetry, dance, music and art to introduce participants to African Women, historically proven to be authentic royalty.
