Join us this Friday at Austin's favorite local gay bar, Rain on 4th, as we raise money for the victims of the Orlando shooting and fight hate and intolerance with love and acceptance.
This past weekend, 49 our LGBT brothers and sisters were tragically lost and 53 were injured in one of the most gruesome attempts to silence who we are and what we stand for. Yet amid the heartache and loss, thousands upon thousands of LGBT people have marched, rallied, and stood up against the judgment and homophobia that still threatens us all today.
Please join us at Rain where we will be raising money for the victims of the shooting in Orlando through a book purchase and signing of the LGBT Children's Book, A Peacock Among Pigeons, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the victim's fund.
Written by Tyler Curry and illustrated by Clarione Gutierrez, "A Peacock Among Pigeons" is a heroic tale about learning how to stand out when you can't fit in. Peter the Peacock is a hero for anyone who has been told that they weren't good enough or didn't belong simply because their born with feathers that were different from everyone else.
We stand and fight against hate and ignorance with love and acceptance.
"Embrace who you are, from beak to bird feet, and never let anyone break your stride." - Peter the Peacock
