Oilcan Harry's

(367 Ratings)
Austin's busiest gay bar and dance floor

Popular with the younger crowd from the local universities. Check out their website to see specials and when the go-go boys are there. It's right next door to Rain and near three other Warehouse District gay bars, making hopping a breeze.

buy drinks or LEAVE

This is an awesome clubas long as youre buying drinks and tipping. I was just there during the music festival and I was there for about an hour and I took a break from drinking was at the dance floor and just put my head down, staren at the light patterns on the floor and I was asked to leave because a bartender said I was drunk sleeping.wow so after the bouncer started talking to me he said sorry I have to make u leave but just wait 10 mins and come back okay..Im never going there again.how sad

Stripper Circus

What a fabulous experience this has been. Awesome themes every Thursday, featuring games with giveaway prizes and dancers as well. Aye Mira!

"Sports bar?"

"OCH" is trying to remake it's image as a Sports Bar, but aside from a bunch of giant TV's over one of the bars, it's really still just a typical, but cute, gay bar. Thursday night brings a joint Amateur Strip contest with 'Rain' down the street, which was a lot of fun, although Rain was a lot more crowded. OCH has darts, a pool table, and even a beer-pong set-up. A great place to stop in for a drink while having a night on the town in Austin's 4th Street gay district.

Not what I expected

I ducked into OCH to check it out, it was not at all what I expected, it was better. Over the years I have learned to filter what people say about cities & places, to seperate the whining of miserable people and overkill reviews of the regulars. I am glad I did in this case and found OCH to be a fun and inviting place. Yes, the crowd was small, but it was a mix of 30-something, some older and some college age kids as well. Everyone was equally friendly and pleasant, I stayed for about an hour just taking in everything and watching the bartender's interactions with his customers. BTW.. The bartender was very friendly and outgoing and immediately introduced himself and shook my hand as I climbed onto my bar stool and remembered my name and drink each time I ready for another. Warning: Before you write a place off visit it for yourself, don't go by what other people say, remember different people have different expectations. It's a bar, not Sacs Fifth Avenue.
