Neighbors of Winn, an organization dedicated to supporting and sustaining meaningful education and family well-being at Winn Elementary, is hosting an open to the public community input forum on Wednesday September 7th at 6:15pm at the University Hills library in meeting room #2.
Enrollment has been down at Winn, and Neighbors of Winn has been advocating for a transformative program at the campus in order to attract more families into the school and better serve the current students. In the meantime, AISD has been looking into creating a Montessori pilot program and we see this as potentially a great fit. A Win, Win, WINN.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an arena for input from community stakeholders before the leader representatives of NOW meet with Superintendent Dr. Cruz later this month. There will be a brief update on progress so far followed by a forum for open discussion. Based on the considerations you bring up that evening, we will create an agenda for our initial meeting with Dr. Cruz. We were reminded by the librarian that parking is limited and there is another event going on that evening in the other meeting room so please make attempts to carpool or walk to the library if possible.
Please feel free to share this invite so that we can include as many community stakeholders as possible.
Wednesday Sept 7th, 6:15pm. University Hills Library, meeting room #2
Hope to see you on Wednesday!
