On September 13, 2016, I will have been living with HIV for thirty years. Three decades. Nearly 60% of my life.
While having a birthday party for a virus may seem silly, this night is not just about me. It's also a night for reflection; for remembering those we've lost; and recognizing that over 35 million others worldwide are gone because of AIDS.
And it's about my first lover. My first love. The man I acquired HIV from. The man who changed my life in many positive ways.
So come help me celebrate this occasion. To celebrate life.
