Attendees will revisit the regal past of Africa as we encourage young girls today to hone inner strength, embrace the power of Pan-African unity and celebrate their true born royalty! Goals of the 2016 Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant: 1. Promote Educational Opportunities For Under Served Girls 2. Educate The Community About Juneteenth 3. Promote Pan-African Unity in Austin and it's Surrounding Cities 4. Educate Contestants and Attendees about African History 5. Fund-raise For One of The First Black Owned Non-Profits in Austin, The Greater East Austin Youth Associations The Greater East Austin Youth Association, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, volunteer organization,provides organized and structured sports activities for the economically disadvantaged youth year-round.Through their involvement, these children gain a strong sense of values and teamwork G.E.A.Y.A. provides a safe and fun environment, while allowing participation in a competitive space.
