The first major event for our 25th year is Derby Day 2016! Not only is it the perfect time to sip on a Mint Julep and view the Kentucky Derby, but it is also perfect to enjoy some yard games with old friends under the Texas sun. An old-school silent auction and a silent auction with-a-twist will be open, as well as a raffle for a trip to Disneyland (4 park tickets & hotel stay) and a custom-made superhero costume for a special child! Additionally, no Kentucky Derby event would be complete without a derby hat contest for the Most Glamorous and Most Outrageous. Please join us. Tickets are now only $50 (includes 2 drink tickets) and children are free.
Sponsorship and in-kind donation (gift certificate, service, or product) opportunities are available as well.

ABOUT THE CARE COMMUNITIES
In 1991, The Care Communities began serving those fighting HIV/AIDS without a strong support system in Travis County. We began by providing Care Teams of volunteers who offered companionship and assisted with daily living tasks, such a light housework, running errands, respite care, or providing transportation to an appointment. Now, in our 25th year, we have grown to serve both Travis and Williamson County, as well as those facing cancer, not only with our Care Teams, but by providing Peer Matching to connect those diagnosed to a survivor who provides hope and support for the journey ahead. All of these services are offered at no cost. Whether it is a senior whose loved ones live out of state, or parents that need extra support due to their child being ill, The Care Communities is there. Around 94% of our clients report an increase in quality of life, while 100% report more regular attendance at medical appointments (indicating this was a need prior to our services). All of this is made possible by our expanse of 600 volunteers, as well as private grants and individual donations, on which we solely rely. With your support, we can continue to serve our neighbors and loved ones in the greater Central Texas area for another 25 years.
