We all know that Texas and Federal laws regarding marriage equality discriminate against LGBTQ couples and families. So what can we do about it?
You can choose to be a victim, or a maker of change. This short, casual workshop is designed to give you the tools necessary to take back your financial, medical, and legal future. Specifically designed to empower same-sex couples and families, We'll walk you step by step through the process of acquiring the tools you need to make wise, healthy decisions in your legal and financial life.
We will discuss the importance of an advance directive to physicians, medical power of attorney, irrevocable life-insurance trusts, and many other subjects. Come with your questions and concerns, and we’ll have a talk-back session afterward.
Light refreshments will be provided, and we are hoping to get as big a crowd as we can. Located at The Q Austin (close to Central Market on North Lamar), the event will start at 7:00.
If you have any friends that you think might benefit from this workshop, PLEASE BRING THEM! We need to help educate our community, and that starts with YOU!
Please RSVP, including any friends/loved ones you’d like to bring.
