Greetings! The Austin Pride Parade is upon us, with less than a month before the event, we have lots of things to accomplish and get together for this event. It would be awesome to have a bigger group than last year, maybe even a Color Guard!
Last year, many Veterans wore their uniform while others wore their branch of SVC T-shirt. If you do decide to wear your uniform and fall under the UCMJ, please ensure you're not violating any regulation before doing so.
This event is for Military folks...

Here is information about Parking Meters in Austin:
Saturdays: 11 a.m. until Midnight
The hours listed above apply to all meters between Cesar Chavez and 10th Street, and between IH-35 and Lamar Blvd. Outside of that area, meters operate from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Meters take MasterCard, Visa, debit cards or coins.
The Parade actually stages on San Jacinto Blvd between 11th and 15th Streets. So if you park around the Staging area, parking fees should be minimal (only until 6pm). Please note that unlike year's past, the route does not begin and end in the same location (see attached)
Unfortunately, we have to come up with the $75 fee to participate, if you can donate, please let me know, every dollar counts!
I can be reached at 210-430-7318. Please spread the word! :-)
Some important things to note, this year's Parade returns as an evening event with a new route. We will be staging on San Jacinto Blvd. between 11th and 15th Streets. The Parade with kick off at 8pm from the Capitol and march down Congress with a full street closure, turning right on 4th St. and ending at Republic Square Park. The route no longer begins and ends in the same area.
