It's been three years since the release of Burn Through Me. Through personal growth, musical growth, travels, health scares and hospitals stays, Grrlz will be BoiZ are back at Rusty's once again to release our follow up EP, Almost Home. A short collection of songs we hope will tell you where we've been, what we've learned and most importantly, what we've decided was best to hold on to; love.
Touching on subjects from mental illness, to marriage equality, from fundamentalist upbringings and lgbt youth to lesbian relationships and sex... this time it's a LOT more personal but the underlying message is still the same; be yourself, embrace yourself, love yourself and love all others you can in life. It's short.
We want to thank Thawind Mills at RadioZendo Studios for being our "fifth member" (truly the best fit we could ask for in a producer) and for bringing out the best in us in what could have been a really risky live project.
We want to thank our little neighbor Jess for being the perfect model of childhood innocence and her parents for making her that way and for letting us plaster her face everywhere.
We want to thank Ryan Kelsey and Red Balloon Productions and Laura Votaw and Rusty's for understanding where our hippie sensibilities meet our party grrl attitudes and making it possible for us to share this celebration with everyone! Whether you are lgbtqi or a straight ally, whether you are young or old (all ages are welcome until 8pm.) The idea is to bring people together. And have a kick ass time!
