Granted Austin isn't a small town but when first checking this bar out i got that small town feeling kinda bar which isn't a bad feeling. Sitting at the bar having a few drinks and looking around at all the people there hanging out with there friends and everything. Although when i go there im by myself its great just to set back and look at all the fun the others are having. Its a friendly place and never had a problem with anyone there. Coming there from outta town is definitely worth it and i do hope to make some friends as i continue to go.

A wonderful gay bar with a real and very rare "Cheers" type atmosphere! We had fond memories of evenings with friends when we all needed to get out of the warehouse district. I had not been to BT (that's what the regulars call it now) in years, but my partner and I revisited and to our surprise discovered that the bar has been given really nice facelift. As always, the staff is top-notch. Friendly, funny and well-mannered (they actually seem as if they like their jobs!). The bar was busy, but no parking problem as there is plenty of it. It's was simply delightful to see that this bar and its patrons were busier and better than ever! We're coming back for the live music they have now on Monday nights. Pleaes do yourself the favor of paying them a visit.

If your looking for a drink in a friendly atmospere guy or girl, this is the place to be. The crowds nice when I go there, but not crowded at all. The decor is ok, not a club just a corner bar type atmospere and laid back older crowd.

really enjoyed Bout Time, living in Fort Lauderdale it's nice
to be around people who are down to earth and like to have a good time. I had a great time there last weekend and really liked the bartenders who who were so friendly. I
have to say I got a bit of a crush on Corey but he know's it..lol

Lotta regulars, lotta alcoholics, some hustlers, lots of hard drinkin'. Mixed crowd of lesbians, gay men, and other brands of queer. There's a volleball area, some kind of league on the weekends I hear. The fact that this is a gay bar is just incidental - it's where you go to hangout and drink, not to cruise. Did I mention this is the place to go to get hammered?

Its a great "real world" bar, where men are who they are and not trying to be "somebody".... I enjoy reading reviews by young and older men -- cause we forget that we all were born and we all will get old -- ENJOY LIFE, Have a Drink here and meet a MAN...

A physically shabby version of Cheers in Austin. The company is good, bartenders are friendly, drinks are cheap, and pool and volley ball are popular. Drugged-to-the-tits stand-and-model twinks head downtown. As you can tell from their reviews, they don't thrive here.

The staff is nice but that's about it! The people that go there are freaks, scary and trash! Save yourself the trip and just go to a straight bar if you're north!

This is the only club in town to meet older, more with it men. For those of us younger dudes that are into real men, this is the place. Met my current lover here. Not a place to go if you are looking for a twinkey pretty boy.

If you are from out of town..You need to drive on down to the warehouse district. The bars near 4TH. Street are the best gay bars in Austin. Bout Time is for the older, different, and less trendy crowd. The staff may be nice but the bar looks like it opened in 1979 and has not changed. Trust me...Do not waste your time looking for this bar if you are looking to really party. Like one review said here...It is the nursing home of bars here.

This bar may not be fancy, but as soon as you enter the place you will be greeted by friendly smiles from the patrons and employees. Bout Time is a place for people comfortable in their own skin. If you are into showing off, or you think you are better than others because the size of your paycheck, this is not the place for you. Here you will find people from many walks of life and diverse ethnic background, and it is particularly frequented by trannies on Saturday nights. Give it a shot.

This is a great place to go & relax w/ familiar faces that are die-hard regulars. The people who hang out here love this place & frequent it most of the time. They all know each other well...staff & patrons & aren't afraid to tell ya what they think! But don't let it scare you off, they mean no harm. Sunday's (& maybe other nights too) they have volleyball games and the crowd luvs it! Go have some beers, relax & watch a good game.

I LOVE THE PEOPLE THERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME. I'M GLAD TO SEE MORE WOMEN THERE ALSO
I FEEL LIKE IT IS TRULY A FAMILY PLACE. THE ONLY BAR NORTH THAT I'D RATHER GO TO INSTEAD OF DOWNTOWN. THE BARTENDERS ARE WONDERFUL.
